    But Why Tho? - Adrian

    Dec 16, 2020

Every issue of Star Wars: Darth Vader brings me more understanding of characters and sequences of events that are decades old. It is this kind of masterful storytelling from Pak that has made the Darth Vaderseries one of my favorites of the year and has me continually waiting for the next issue. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - John Edward Lee

    Dec 16, 2020

This issue ends with Vader with his confidence regained. It is clear that the fires of Mustifar have begun to sharpen the blade that is Darth Vader. Of course this is exactly what The Emperor wants, but perhaps the blade he hopes to sharpen will eventually be aimed at himself. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

    Dec 22, 2020

Darth Vader continue to be a strong series in this post-ESB period and I'm enjoying what Pak is delving into, the character he's using, and the general progress of it. This is a solid addition to it as it plays with some really neat ideas and I'm looking forward to reading it in a collected version in full later on as well as in the moment here. I'm still wary of the use of Bogg overall as it just doesn't click for me but it's another variant on a familiar theme within the Star Wars lore that does work and I'm figuring some of it just a kneejerk response to issues with TROS. The reader is treated to an experience as overwhelming and chaotic as Vader himself, with the issue jumping to various points in time from Anakin's personal history, all while he fends off threats in his reality, making for a somewhat disorienting experience. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Dom Berardi

    Dec 21, 2020

Darth Vader #8 serves as another consistent entry into this series that has been one of the better titles in the Star Wars line up. One of the strengths of this issue, and apparently the progressing story, is that it is not ignoring the sequel trilogy. Pak had given plenty of fan service for the prequels and perhaps now it is time to tie this series into the sequels. Read Full Review

Some deep Sith lore in this one for the fans but if you are interested in following Darth Vader's storyline to the end this is well worth a read. Read Full Review

    Comics: The Gathering - NumidianPrime

My opinion on both this issue and the arc in general will probably be decided by how the rest of the story goes. While I am starting to get a little concerned about the overall series, I have been mostly enjoying it, so I haven't completely lost faith in it yet. I'm still looking forward to seeing what happens next and hope that I enjoy it more. Read Full Review
