There's a fair bit going on here overall and it's an active and busy book – though a lot of it is given over to dialogue as well. The cold open focusing on his time serving in the Empire with Solo felt out of place even though I know it connects to other things. It just didn't flow well as an opening or into the main story and I'd rather have had more time there. Sacks continues to do well in making Valance uninteresting and expanding our view of the bounty hunters out there, the organizations, and how it all works. It just needs a bit more time to slow things down and do some table setting – and to not rely on using the same “famous” bounty hunters constantly. It's a big galaxy out there and the reliance is understandable on many levels but Valance's book feels like it demands more original material. Read Full Review

After previous issues offered things like "plot" and "character development," this issue is back to the rougher spots of the series, leaning heavily into action and bounty-hunting badassery, seeing Valance not only looking back to his adventures with Han Solo, but also hinting at him teaming up with the Rebellion. Star Wars: Bounty Hunters Issue: 8 “The Terminus Gauntlet: Moving Target” Part I Publisher: @marvel Writer: @ethanjsacks Artist: @villanellipaolo Colorist: @arifprianto_arf Cover: Paolo Villanelli & Arif Prianto Letterer: Travis Lanham The Unbroken Clan Syndicate wants the cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance dead. Valance, desperate to remove the massive bounty on him, takes on a potentially lucrative mission to pay back a debt. However, this mission is not what it seems as it puts him in a dangerous situation. This issue was a great addition to the series. I absolutely loved how this issue started with a flashback to when Valance was in the Imperial Navy. We find out that Valance and Han Solo have a connection , as they served at the same time. That was definitely mind blowing and I would love to know more about their time together. As far as mission, with him being hunted I predict more betrayals and I look forward to following his journey. I absolutely love the artwork in this series as well as the other Star Wars books. Any fan of Star Wars should definitely be reading these books.
