All this being said, Star-Lord is simply fun, even when the story is given some pretty strong emotional weight. It does seem like this book is a little too preoccupied with ancillary characters like Old Man Logan (who's quickly becoming as overexposed as his predecessor was), but there's no denying that Logan's bond with Javelynn is a great deal of fun to read. Read Full Review

Didn't like: 1. BC getting away (but maybe that was the point with her luck power showing); 2. 2. Logan getting called in for stabbing threw guys; 3. Melter melting THAT crowbar; Silver Bandit and Javelyn were still at the top of their game despite age and retirement. Otherwise, I really liked the entertainment value and look forward to see how it ends.

This is another strong entry in this series, though the Black Cat grates as a villain. I can't quite buy her as boss of the NYC mob, and I can't quite buy Star-Lord, Logan, and Daredevil combined not being up to the task of taking her down. Anyway, this issue continues to hit the right humorous and touching notes. It's been fun and I am looking forward to see how it resolves next issue.

With special guest assistants Daredevil and Old Man Logan (and Shocker!), Peter and his buddies the Allens almost turn the tables on the Black Cat. Almost. This "dueling heist capers" story takes a dark turn at the climax, and I'm eager to see how it wraps up next month. There's really no question of calling this epic as long as Kris Anka's drawing it; his talents start and definitely end at characters striking poses in cool outfits. Detailed backgrounds and smooth action sequences? Mr. Anka ain't got time for that.

aside form some questionable art decisions, like having all the panels where a character gets hit tinted red, this was a good issue, Black Cat was surprisingly good as the villain, the bond between Edmund and Peter is believable and the suspense was very well-built. I also really like the way Shocker was written in this series as a whole, seriously marvel, give Zadarsky a Shocker mini-series, you know you want to. all in all, I'm glad we got this series and I'm glad I'm one of the few who picked this up
