Spider-Gwen #20

With so much action and brilliant art and colors to supply it to your eyeballs, Spider-Gwen delivers the goods on so many levels. With a fast paced alternate universe storyline, Latour handles this like a car he's been driving since grade school. The panel work is creative and the motion action sequences are different but so appealing to look at. It's a feast for your eyes and a highly addicting story for the biggest or smallest Marvel fan. Overall, Spider-Gwen #20 is a leap in the current arc that refocuses on Gwen's powers, what they mean for her identity, the implications her decisions will have on her as a person and hero, and her dynamic with Harry Osborne. Spider-Gwen #20 was another excellent entry into one of Marvel's best ongoing series. Jason Latour continues to do a great job juggling multiple sub-plots that help enhance the main story going on with Spider-Gwen trying to save her father and Harry Osborn. Wolverine and Shadowcat's introductions were handled seamlessly as they add even more depth to how SHIELD works within this universe. All of these elements make Spider-Gwen an exciting reading experience that makes you look forward to what happens next. Read Full Review

Gwen teams up with Harry and decides to stand against the world. With incredibly cool AU Wolverine action! Wolverine-65, memorably dubbed "the Immortal Mr. Murderhands," is absolutely terrific. So is the surprise guest star arriving in his wake. Their fight-heavy scenes at the front of the comic are serious Fall-In-Love time, showing off the considerable action and world-building capabilities of this creative team. Their fight visuals are particularly beautiful. Unfortunately, the back half is over-loaded with more Matt Murdock melodrama and unsatisfying villainous plotting. Gwen's choices and actions throughout are a reassurance that though the destination is still unclear, the journey is going to be enjoyable as hell.
