Spider-Gwen and Miles have arrived on Earth 616! I love them together, I really do. There are genuine moments where Gwen and Miles are the vulnerable teenagers that they are, and remind the readers just how different their worlds can be. Gwen, in particular, is able to acknowledge that she's not been the person or the hero she wants to be, and Miles, in contrast, shows her what heroes are supposed to be. Plus, Miles is quite frankly adorable in this issue as he fumbles through awkwardly trying to tell Gwen he likes her. I mean, how precious is that? Read Full Review

Overall, to paraphrase NFL Coach Dennis Green, they are who we thought they were. And what we thought was a Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales story would be better in thought than actuality, the equivalent of that HGTV show you can watch while washing the dishes or filing your taxes. Gwen's busy sojourn in the 616 includes a multiversal crime scheme to spoil, a Spidey Sr. cameo, and a surprise guest star that really tangles the romantic threads. This is about the wordiest issue this title has ever had, and some of the intricacies of the plot get drowned out. The focus on characterization and relationships is excellent, though, and it's exactly what this romantic team-up arc needs. Robbi Rodriguez turns in some superb art, and there's a healthy dose of humor maxing out the issue's overall fun.

This issue was a disappointment. I loved the last part in "Spider-Man," but this really goes nowhere with an unwelcome appearance by the ubiquitous Ms. Marvel, who I really feel Marvel is overusing to the point of making her seem tedious. I also felt the Miles/Gwen connection didn't work nearly as well here. Also, the jokes and the dialogue fell flat for me. I think we're facing a situation where the Bendis issues of this crossover are excellent, and the Latour issues are...ehhhh.
