Sif #1

Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Ryan Stegman show incredibly chemistry as a creative team on this oneshot as they make a strong case for a Sif ongoing with this very fun, actionpacked story. They really made the most of this oneshot by telling a very entertaining tale of a badass warrior in action, but also making the character incredibly compelling. The creative team works well together, and while an ongoing series may be unreasonable, I would love to see a mini series centering around Sif, or maybe as a complimentary back up tale to the Thor title. There were a few missteps, but this is still a great book. The world of Asgard in the Marvel universe is as vibrant as it has ever been, and this Sif oneshot is a fine addition to the mythos. Ryan Stegman's art seems a little rougher than it was in the She-Hulks mini-series from this year. That murkier linework is effective in the blood soaked pages on the ship. Travis Foreman's cover is very nice outside of the napkin Sif is wearing as a skirt. What is that? A hankerchief? Read Full Review

This is a confident issue from DeConnick and Stegman. It does more than bring Sif back into play in the Marvel Universe. It makes us care about her, and cheer her return. Read Full Review
