Superstar artist Carlo Barberi's first arc on Scarlet Spider might be Kaine's last as the Red Death comes for everyone.Has Kaine made a deal with the devil? No, not Mephisto.More Scarlet Spider and Wolverine action than you can shake an adamantium claw or spider stinger at.

    Comic Vine - Gregg Katzman

All in all, this storyline has a somewhat abrupt conclusion but it does a thorough job moving Kaine forward and focusing on his future -- and if you read solicitations, you know there's A LOT to get excited about. SCARLET SPIDER is a book that regularly offers solid action with a sharp script and this issue is no exception. Although I don't see Kaine getting invited back to the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning for high tea any time soon, the forced team-up with two of Marvel's deadliest heroes works well (and allows for plenty of Kaine's sardonic narration which writer Christopher Yost does so well). Kaine's deal with the Kingpin also foreshadows new trouble for the hero sometime down the line. Worth a look. Read Full Review

This wasn't the strongest arc of Scarlet Spider by any means, but it had its moments. And now the stage is set for a potentially much more significant team-up between the Scarlet Spider and the Superior Spider-Man. Read Full Review
