Power Man and Iron Fist #14

If you want a fun, engaging romp through Harlem complete with maniacal bad guys, blaxploitation style heroes, possessed junkies and some serious zombie action, then this is the comic for you. It's got some social undertones, smart dialogue, great action, a good story and it's well worth a look. This issue on its own is a page turner full of engaging characters, well-defined villains with clear motives and some reasonable shades of gray characters. The lines are drawn in this issue so that you can root for the heroes but, to also give the reader a sense of tension with all the body snatching going on. Extra points given for the modern pop culture references being spoken with the old school art that serves as the backdrop. I have a feeling that it will only keep getting better and I'm here for it. Sadly, we're almost at the end of this terrific book. But the story has somehow grown wider than we originally thought and things are more grave than first imagined. Here's to seeing how Walker ties this story up before the end. Read Full Review

I think the current Power Man and Iron Fist story has been going on a bit too long, causing the series to drag. But the writing and art are still fantastic enough to keep the comic entertaining and fun to read. Read Full Review

Another solid issue in this series. Power Man and Iron fist has become my go to comic. The art is always cool and the stories are always fun. This issue continues the fight for Harlem and the hunt for Alex Wilder.

This issue is pretty good, but the story has been going on forever and is starting to drag on. A new storyline would be refreshing, but it won't happen here, as this series is ending in favour of a couple of solo titles. I don't think I'm going to do either...for me, the magic of these characters is how they work together.

Luke and Danny face a street magic war for the soul of Harlem. The saga of Alex Wilder has gone on too long without closure or a win for our heroes, but it looks like we're finally headed for a big one. While both the art and the dialogue are getting too rough and unpolished for my taste, I do really like how the plot is shaping up. I'm very happy to see Jennie and Black Mariah playing an important role in this final arc.
