Nova #14

The Silver Surfer fight delivered and we got to see some heroic action from Nova as he helps the last of the refugees escape and "sacrifices" so they can escape as he holds Harrow back. The last two issues have been the best of the series, if you ask me, and Nova remains one of the best books, month in and month out. A must read for everyone. Read Full Review

The one thing I like most of all is the general lack of focus on Galactus. In two issues, Galactus/Surfer have been in the spotlight for only 25 percent of the pages. Instead, we get the more ground-level perspective with other factors driving the plot, which is a nice twist on what you usually get. It's little creative decisions like that that keep me consistently enjoying this series, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Read Full Review

For those that were put off by the first issue in this three-part arc, just walk away from that feeling right now. Nova #14 is a return to form for Abnett and Lanning, and the book reads wonderfully. I just hope that this series isnt buried beneath the summer epics. The blockbusters are great, but theres nothing quite like a brilliantly thought out and executed thrill ride to restore ones faith in the world of comics. Nova is that restoration point. Amazing. Nova #14 was a fun read. I have no problems with indulging in some popcorn for the brain. If you dig stories with cosmic settings and a good old fashioned action and adventure story then you will enjoy this issue. Nova continues to be a very solid and entertaining read. Nova 14 shows that Richard is a true hero, as he is desperate to save every last citizen on Obrucen from Galactus’ inevitable feast while also bringing Harrow to justice. The fight between Richard and Silver Surfer was awesome
