  (Cover Date: October, 1987) Summary: In Haiti, Keith & Martine are speeding in a jeep to get to Tullius' humfo before a voodoo ceremony begins involving Lucian & Teddy. They learn from a man they almost run over that a human sacrifice will be taking place. Martine takes them to Mambo Matilda to get her help. The mambo explains to them that in Haiti that twins share one soul, & it is accepted if one kills the other. The mambo gives him his Nightmask costume that Martine saw in Keith's dream. At the humfo, Teddy is laid down by Lucian who is tied to a pole. Nightmask shows up & is beaten & put in chains. As the mambo taught him, Nightmask channels the white snake god to free himself. Tullius channels the chain beast, & the two fight each o ther. Nightmask is struck down by Tullius. Teddy throws Nightmask a bottle of perfume, which he sprays on Tallius as the white snake sprays venom on the chain beast. The mambo says the chain beast spirit has deserted Tullius. Lucian tries to reconcile with his brother, but Tullius runs away, still hating him. Later, the group is with Lucian at the site of his parents' graves. Keith asks the mambo if she can heal Teddy's crushed legs. The mambo implies that she must learn to live with them as one of her crippled spirits does. Comments: This is the last issue of this series, & the first New Universe title to be canceled, I believe. It was plagued by mediocre storylines throughout its run. more
