The Brood invasion may not be as it seems. Are the Brood actually looking to attack humanity? Or are they searching for sanctuary? A new and terrible Marvel villain is unveiled in this issue!

After a really good premiere issue, Reed falters badly when trying to control his narrative. He stacks up too many weak plot elements and doesn't build a solid basis for the underlying rationale of his tale. His characterization for Ms. Marvel is fine. It's even good, but by amplifying the threats, he distracts the reader from the star, and if he repeats these mistakes, she will be a falling star. Read Full Review

#2 continues to be solid and has some good subtle world building. The Brood is here but out of desperation from being hunted to near extinction by this mysterious hunter alien they call Cru. Investigating the last surviving Brood Carol finds out the Brood led him here to get a favorite crystal of immense power. Carol is familiar with this and has seen it in military bases before. While Carol was knocked out Cru absorbed her memories to find its location. Ms. Marvel is pretty badass. When she was investigating the last Brood she killed it even after it told her everything. No survivors. Cru gets to the crystal before Ms. marvel could stop him and the ish ends there.

I wanted to read this when it first came out but never ended up doing it so I'll review the issues I end up getting. Also, I wish Comicbook round up would correct the cover pictures for this series so people wouldn't mistake it for the modern Ms. Marvels. Some of the reviews are actually for the newer series, not this one. Ms Marvel era Carol Danvers is definitely one of my favorite Marvel women...and not just for the incredible Frank Cho cover art. She is a likeable character that is always challenged greatly by what is put before her...even though she is very powerful. That is something that is lost in a lot of modern stor more
