BEWARE THE COLLECTIVE!
MOON KNIGHT faces one of his most unusual foes yet, a multi-limbed amalgamation of bodies known as THE COLLECTIVE!
What monstrous science could have led to this unholy creature's creation? What, indeed, is being taught at universities these days?
We know schools have their cliques, but this is ridiculous!

On Comics Ground - Jared Wood

A very creative and engaging art style helped to bring a typical monster of the week story to new heights with the start of this new arc. I still really enjoy the whole "mind" aspect of this book and I'm really looking forward to seeing where things go next. Read Full Review

Weird is a difficult thing to aim for, and the execution is much harder if your audience knows where youre trying to wind up. That's what made it so impressive. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson

Moon Knight #195 is another good issue. We get introduced to a new villain and Moon Knight has a whole new raft of problems to deal with. The pacing did feel a little off and I do wish we got to spend a little more time with Marc Spector getting to know his daughter. Overall it is a fun start to a new storyline. The art change, while vastly different than what we have been getting, works surprisingly well and delivers some great moments throughout the issue. Read Full Review

    Major Spoilers - Matthew Peterson

The pacing feels a little choppy and the visuals are kind of hard to stomach, but the overall effect works to make a comic that is as avant garde as the villain(s) within. Read Full Review

Moon Knight takes on a new tone with a new story arc. Going a little less bleak and gritty this time in favor silly yet still horrifying atmosphere. It is a change up that was very grasping for me. The colors and lines still capture still captures the surreal nature of the book. There is a bit more exaggeration to the characters. Where the story leaves off also creates an interesting battle going forward. Moon Knight is a sleeper hit that continues to impress.

I haven't read "Moon Knight" since Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood left a year or two ago, but I picked this up, and...it was totally bizarre and I loved it. The opening scene with The Collective left me curious as to how this could be a threat, expecting them to be a comedic foil in the issue, but they truly morph into something terrifying--the page of the Collective swallowing Moon Knight is awesome--which leads me to the art, by Paul Davidson, which is a weird kind of Rob Guillory/Todd MacFarlane hybrid. It took a few pages to get use to, but by the end I loved it. And I don't remember if I've read Max Bemis comics before, but I dug this, so I'll definitely add this to my pull list!

Moon Knight was really hoping that he'd filled his quota of "weird" for this volume, but nope, here comes the Collective, a Cronenbergian nightmare of malevolent melded-together misanthropes. I felt the self-deprecating hipster origin of the Collective went on a touch too long, but this was otherwise magnificent. Ambitiously, audaciously crazy. I appreciate how shamelessly the villain is tailored to the hero, thematically speaking. This issue knocked the physical confrontation out of the park; I can't wait to see the psychological match-up in the next one.

Moon Knight is one of my favorite characters and as much as this book was pretty fun, it really hasn't been at the level it started at with the sun god arc. It does have some interesting ideas and I am interested in how this plays out so it's definitely worth the read. I thought the art was enjoyable as well.
