This series continues to feature good artwork, and Miles Morales: Spider-Man #33 has a few standout character moments, but has storytelling moments that feel like Miles gets sidelined in favor of exposition by the Gods and feels like we're entering an arc that will not feel unique. A great start to the tournament arc so far. Along with some good moments of characterization with Miles' supporting cast and Ziglar picked quite the motley crew to help him in his battle with Ares and his team. Ares isn't exactly a hero or villain per se, just doing what he believes is right since it looks like his idea of a tournament is motivated by the events of Avengers: No Way Home. The last two pages are big highlights - Dr. Kwan's status as a gamma mutate was teased throughout the series, specifically issues 13, 24, 25, and 26. Now all those teases finally come full circle in this issue. Her debut as Powerlift was excellent, and hopefully Ziglar can reveal more about the character as the series goes on as she has some breakout potential. more
