Mighty Avengers #9

Just another entertaining issue of Mighty Avengers that shows why this team is one that stands out as it's own thing compared to other team books out there. Blue Marvel's part was excellent, while Ronin's part didn't hold up as much as I would have thought it would. Overall making this very solid and I hope that from here there can be that expectation that when something big is about to happen in this book, it can be done without it being spoiled months in advance. "Mighty Avengers" #9 takes a strange core of characters and continues to make them work. For a book full of castoffs that few others would want, this is the real deal. It's a reminder that just like the original "New Warriors" comic by Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley back in the day, any character (or group of them) can be good if you just find the right approach. Don't get fooled, "Mighty Avengers" is elevating the game of all of the characters involved. Read Full Review

Mighty Avengers continues on as the best avengers book being written right now. Yes if you read internet articles the end has been spoiled for you, but it was still a great ending to the issue. Real drama, emotion, and good fight scenes: Everything you want from an Avengers book that you're not getting from Hickman.

Two major events in this issue: 1) Ronin is finally shown with his mask off, and we learn on the last page that he's Blade. 2) The Blue Marvel takes center stage and we learn a ton about his family and the tragic events that have happened. The problem is that a few cool things happened in a comic that seemed to come out of 1975. Some may enjoy that. For the most part, I'm not one of those people.
