Aug 17, 2011It's worth noting that Jenkins' primary purpose in writing this series is to give a logical argument in a format more accessible to new audiences. I can't say that I blame him, either, as this tactic has worked well for other writers, notably Art Spiegelman. Although thinly veiled, Jenkins' message takes a much more manageable form for the general populace than the intricate dance of words played out by politicians and reporters on television or the erudite texts found in academia. Another benefit is that this format lacks the instantly divisive symbolism of blue donkeys, tea parties, labor unions, or any of a myriad of other organizations. By circumventing the knee jerk reaction to root for this ideology or that like one roots for a sports team, Jenkins presents the issues in a less polarizing setting. Let's just hope enough people take enough time to read and internalize this series' principles. Read Full Review
