While I still have some reservations about some of the lower level details like characterization, the high level concept is really strong. Not the mention the fact that Bruce Banner is a complex character who has mostly been MIA the last few years, so it'll be refreshing change of pace to have him around again. Pak also offers a fairly accessible introduction to the inside-out world of Bruce Banner. The script covers Skaars origin, World War Hulk and even the apparent eradication of gamma power from Bruces body. The one element that may confuse newer readers is the reference to Bruces relationship with his own father, touching upon a patricide plotline from Peter Davids classic run on the character years ago. Olivettis rich artwork is a nice fit for this subject matter. He conveys the mature, driven nature of the plot, but its not too dark either, capturing a sense of adventure as well. Read Full Review

Was hoping this would be as entertaining as Pak's last run on Incredible Hulk, but it was a really slow issue that wasted a lot of time on exposition and recaps instead of establishing a plot to grab readers. I'm going to pass on anymore of this series unless I start hearing Planet Hulklike praise for it. Read Full Review

This issue is a mix of good and bad, band proves to be enough to make me come back to the series. The main story has some flaws that Pak needs to work out, and the co-feature needs a bit of work to make it more exciting, but neither are necessarily terrible. Read Full Review

It's funny that this week's Red Hulk widely panned Loeb read was better than the much anticipated Pak Green Hulk installment. Its not that this comic was bad, it wasn't, it was just kind of a snoozer. Also, the ending didn't leave anything special to look forward to. This point coupled with the fact that there are no back stories or secondary plot threads in play, point to ominous signs for this series. That is until the next “big” event that Marvel always relies on boosts sputtering stories. Read Full Review

The story of Banner was cool, it's pretty intriguing and the art is spectacular! But there's also Lyra's story. It's shorter and the artist was fine too, but the story itself is really weak... Well... Van Lente is a trademark of arguable stories for me! I didn't like his solo series of Lyra, so maybe she'll make this arc worse for me. I want to close this gap before Fall of the Hulks and I hope Lyra's stories will be at least bearable.
