Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

Imperial Guardians #1 carves a tense niche in Marvel’s cosmic sandbox, delivering punchy action and team intrigue that justifies its cover price for fans weighing limited pulls. The basics click with Gamora’s clear goal navigating obstacles to avert doom, yet uneasy alliances hint at cracks worth watching. Solid launch, but it remains to be seen if it earns long-term shelf space by deepening those moral shadows next issue. Read Full Review

Overall, this is a satisfying read. It does make me want to see more of this team meeting up and getting up to hijinks, but with the fate of cosmic Marvel kinda in limbo, I’m not sure what’s going to happen. It’s a nice addition to your pull list that shows you a new team in a new way. Read Full Review

    AIPT - George Loftus

This is the most cosmic-feeling book of the post-Imperial Marvel line and it’s likely coming to an end before it was supposed to, which is a huge bummer. The team is weird and interesting, doing work that seems like somebody has to do, and making unexpected calls that would feel out of place anywhere else in the Marvel Universe. There’s a simmering mystery underneath the explosive action that’s planting the seeds for future stories, I just hope we get a chance to see it through. Read Full Review

There's some potential here as Imperial Guardians #1 feels like a black-ops cosmic adventure. Read Full Review
