    Comics Bulletin - David Kozlowski

Is Hulk: Nightmerica the kind of story that moviegoers will be interested in? Well, the Hulk is shown on about half the pages, there's lots of action, there's a pretty girl, there's some government bad guys and the art is unique and impressive. Unfortunately, the dialog is kinda weak and the plotting is confusing and a bit flat. Seems like a 3 or 4 issue mini-series or just selling this as a trade paperback would have been wiser, since a TPB could have gone immediately to booksellers like Barnes & Noble, which are often right across the street from most movie theaters. I don't really understand where it leads. There was a brief appearance of the old Hulk's enemy (not only Hulk's, but they really met before), also there was a big robot, Bruce get a new acquaintance, but it seems to have something more up the sleeve. However, I think this story will be carried by this awesome art. It's not bad here, but still not that interesting. By the way, that's the only work of Brian Ashmore for Marvel and he isn't really into comics, but his artwork is outstanding. I always love such watercolor drawings and even if it lacks some drive, it's always spectacular.
