‘Deconstructed' has been a great first story arc for Hulk. I figured that there would be more to this book than simply Jen anchored down by past events. This creative team made a solid effort to forge a new path for Jen and find a new strength in her that I don't think she has displayed before. Read Full Review

We get a pretty good fight through this issue with a resolution that is kinda fucked up to an extent. We're one arc down with an unsure path of the direction Walters will be headed in next. Hopefully, we'll be exploring more of the Grey Hulk form as well as perhaps seeing Walters converse with this form on a subconscious level. Read Full Review

The new Hulk's first story arc ends in asolid, entertaining execution, introducing us to the new, feral She-Hulk. It's also hopefully setting up the continued build of this excellent, psychological thriller. Read Full Review

If there's any real takeaway here, it's that the book may not yet know how to juggle both things it wants to do, but it has the makings of a great book when it does figure things out. The art is decent and standard for Marvel at this point, if a bit too cartoony in some places, but otherwise, it's a decent issue. Read Full Review

Anytime you are able to approach such a classic character in a new way I am all for it. Civil War II was quite the disappointment but in that some good did come. Hulks first arc may not have had the thrilling or satisfying conclusion it was capable of achieving, but it was no means a total loss. Much of the dramatic dilemmas that were forged in the beginning are still there and clearly have much better fruit to bear. Read Full Review

Hulk #6 dropped the ball. The story is a letdown due to how rushed and anti-climactic it feels after all the buildup this entire arc, while the big climax everyone was waiting for no longer fits due to the storytelling and writing either. The character arcs feel rushed, and the art dipped considerably. After all of this buildup and waiting, I can't recommend sticking with Hulk for the time being. Read Full Review

Well, Jen finally hulks out, and it's pretty underwhelming. I've enjoyed Nico Leon's art in this series, but it seems pretty bare and rushed in the fight scene. After all this slow build up, this barely feels like a resolution, as, well, nothing is really resolved. Maise goes to jail. Whatever. I gave this six issues, but the fascination it held for me in the beginning has turned to impatience. I'm dropping this book.

Jen at last Hulks out to beat the fear-golem-whatever-thing her client has cooked up. On both the allegorical "Jen faces her fears" and the straightforward "Hulk smash monster" levels, this is underwhelming. I feel like this story arc has run out to that fragile edge where experimental creators sink or swim, and this issue feels mighty sinky. The intent in script and art was to make this fight look tense and scary; the result is a muddle that seems afraid of showing off its star. Jen's new Hulk form looks incredible, but we're intentionally denied any good opportunities to scope it. The generic blobby opponent is particularly forgettable; colorist Matt Milla makes a valiant but unsuccessful attempt to perk it up with some mottled greys and browns. The bright spot in this mess is the implication at the end that Jen's decided it's time to stop hiding from the world and start rebuilding herself properly. Here's hoping the next arc is a little more eventful and a little faster. more
