Black Nerd Problems - Omar Holmon

The best thing about this issue is how much fun it is. It's quick, concise, and cute as hell. The closing is perhaps the best as we see some name dropping and hilarious gossip occurs. Thompson, Walsh, and Romero continue to make sure the Hawkeye name stays relevant, different, and brilliant. Read Full Review

Hawkeye #12 is exactly what readers needed in between two major story arcs. It's a fun read without skipping any beats from the emotional Madam Masque storyline, and it's a perfect set up for what's to come. This issue proves that not all team-up stories have to be fillers. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jesse Schedeen

This issue feels very much like a transitional chapter as the series moves into Marvel Legacy. That said, the sheer entertainment value in this Kate/Laura/Gabby team-up is more than enough to make up for any plotting concerns. Read Full Review

Prelude: A side story with Laura and Kate. What could go wrong? The Good: I love Kate and Laura's dynamic. It's a simple plot but it works so well with Kate's recent events and Laura and Gabby's own origins. Walsh's art was good, similar to Romero's but it served it's purpose. I loved that cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what happens. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: Let's face it, most of the score comes from the character interactions but it works so well. Seeing these three react was great and that cliffhanger makes me excited for what's to come.

Another solid chapter of Hawkeye. This book is my secret pleasure. I love Kate. This book was fun and had a lot of cool action scenes. The art is always enjoyable and will roll into Legacy next month!

A reasonably compelling contrivance brings Laura Kinney and family to LA to pursue an investigation together with Kate. It's not the most momentous crime-fighting but it is a supremely enjoyable load of cute bonding between a lot of lovable female characters. (Plus a dog and a wolverine.) Michael Walsh's art is workable, and he gifts Laura with a few really splendid grimace-faces along the way. It's an enjoyable breather and also an opportunity for Kelly Thompson to flex her characterization muscles.
