Oct 13, 2021Gamma Flight #5 concludes the miniseries and the series finale is and isn't what readers will expect. The big fight everyone's looking forward to between Gamma Flight and The Abomination is fine but visually underwhelming aside from a couple of cool pages. There are no big answers to The Abomination and Skaar here as the comic seems in a hurry to resolve things. By the end, most of the story elements are resolved quickly and wrapped up a little too neatly. However, some good things came out of it, and hopefully Marvel will pick back up with these characters in later stories. Read Full Review

Gamma Flight routs the Abomination and stops his plans. It's a soft resolution; the bad guy gets away. There's some outstanding character development for the good guys, though, and this is a hell of a good day's work for Dr. McGowan. Dang, I hope we see more of her in the future! This final chapter is written and drawn well, though not without its moments of clumsiness. Still, this is a good enough team book that I'll agree with the letterhacks who want more Gamma Flight.

Expected better from the last issue, decent run overall but it doesn't add much to the gamma lore.

This is a pretty good conclusion. I wasn't sure about getting the trade of this to go with my Immortal Hulk trades, and I'm still not sure. This isn't the best miniseries, and certainly doesn't reach the heights of the series that spawned it, but it is still good enough, and I think some of the disdain the series get is just because of how great Immortal Hulk was.

Okay, I'm fine with this conclusion. It's not that cool as it had potential to be, but okay enough. I wonder if Marvel will use Frye and Stockpile again or not...

Skaar's change of heart was so random, ungeniune, and poorly written. Abomination is beaten so so so easily it's frustrating. Seems like this series left more loose ends than there were when it started
