Fear Itself: The Home Front could hardly be considered essential reading at this stage. That said, Christos Gage's story succeeds in bringing new life to a tired formula. And even if all the segments have some flaws, the sheer amount of content and above average execution makes this $4 well spent. Read Full Review

A Comic Book Blog - Geoff Arbuckle
Apr 13, 2011Ultimately, it's a good book. If I miss anything from a Home Front title, it's the (how should I put this?)… liberal angle. Ben Urich sought truth and was a bit of a hero from doing so. These are just extra Fear Itself stories, not really anything with a punch, or anything that made you hate the obvious, conservative blow hard, or hating on the trampling of personal rights and privileges. Comic Book Resources - Doug Zawisza
Apr 06, 2011This first issue is hardly "must-read" material. I'd even go so far as to say it's barely even "nice-to-read" stuff. It doesn't do much to add to the tapestry of "Fear Itself" that isn't already masterfully accomplished in the main title. As a standalone, it is a little less inspiring, unless you happen to be a diehard Speedball fan. I'm not certain what future issues hold, but there will be, at the very least, stories of Speedball and Agents of Atlas. That's really not going to be enough to guarantee my dollars and time, but I'll at least peek in the issue to see if it is an upgrade from this one. Read Full Review
