Mar 27, 2024The Spooky-Man story is fun for its rhythmic dialogue and the redesign of the Sinister Six. I really enjoyed the art in the Cyborg Spider-Man story, which also gave us a cyborg-themed Sinister Six. Read Full Review

Enjoyed the Spooky-man story and the art reminiscence of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Did not care for the Cyborg Spider-man story & its amateurish artwork.

A Strip: Make no mistake: If you're a Tim Burton stan, Spooky-Man is the spider variant built for you. To a degree you should probably find insulting, in fact.
Kaare Andrews is up to his old tricks. He invests a huge amount of wildly imaginative effort in world-building, then completely fails to integrate it into a satisfying story. He also indulges in doggerel rhymes, which is the perfect poison pill to rustle my subjective jimmies.
B Strip: It is SO the 90s. Cyborg Spider-Man is definitely the variant who DMs a Shadowrun campaign in his off hours. Even if this premise aligns precisely with your tastes (and it doesn't align with mine), this is a middling story at best.
