Deadpool #34 is another excellent Secret Empire-tie-in-issue that adds further gravitas to the harrowing decisions Deadpool must make under the employ of Captain America's Hydra. The Deadpoolseries, despite its tie-in status, is capitalizing on an interesting premise,dragging Deadpool's personal life and decisions, into a line wide event in avery intriguing way.  The art complimentsthe story telling very well, with Act 2 of the issue, being a very impactfulfight scene that will have implications going forward for Deadpool as a whole.      Read Full Review

Best issue so far is SE arc. The present parts are nice and funny and look great by Lolli which makes the past sequences only hit hard because of how Duggan cultivated the relationship between Deadpool and Preston for years. The way Hawthorne drew those pages are worth the price of the issue alone. The looks on Preston and Wade's faces will haunt me for a while.

While present-day Deadpool runs a wacky prison scheme with the Trapster, past Deadpool compounds his sins in a flashback showdown with Preston. Some very dark moments nuzzle up to some fine comedy, and the tag-team art by Matteo Lolli and Mike Hawthorne displays it all serviceably. The plot is suddenly jam-packed with mysteries, but I have faith in Gerry Duggan's ability to circle back to his foreshadowing in later issues.
