Deadpool #10

In case you couldn't tell by now, I freaking LOVED this issue. It doesn't move the plot forward all that much, but it's a virtually flawless piece of popcorn entertainment. It delivers and then some when it comes to the art, ginormous laughs and cheer-worthy action. I spent $2.99 for a digital copy of this issue on ComiXology and you bet I am absolutely going to spend another $2.99 to get a physical copy. Read Full Review

Deadpool is fast becoming one of the best books in Marvel NOW!, with the most fun per page offered in any of the current titles. It's funny, looks great and has an interesting plot going. On the plus side, Mike Hawthorne delivers his strongest issue of the series so far. The battle between Spidey, Deadpool, and the "Blandtastic Four" is very bouncy and exciting. Hawthorne shows off some clever design tricks as he continues finding new ways to visualize the internal conversation between Wade and Preston, as well as a neat use of perspective in a scene in Hell. After a few sharp issues, it seems to be back to business as usual. Once again the fairly energetic pacing is bogged down by obnoxious dialogue and cheesy one-liners, despite an interesting set-up. The story is satisfying enough, with plenty of action and visual gags, but it starts to get irritating fast. Hawthornes art continues to be solid and engaging throughout, and delivers a solid vehicle for the plot. Enjoyable, but just barely. Read Full Review
