May 07, 2026Civil War: Unmasked feels like that rare anniversary story that actually adds something meaningful to the original event instead of just revisiting it for nostalgia’s sake. Civil War: Unmasked is now a must-read chapter that perfectly expands the original Civil War arc without damaging its legacy. Read Full Review

May 06, 2026Civil War: Unmasked #1 succeeds as both a companion and a character study, adding meaningful context to one of Marvel’s biggest events. Christos Gage threads the needle well, expanding on Tony Stark’s mindset without disrupting established continuity. The Bishop-driven story adds stakes and perspective, while Edgar Salazar delivers strong, energetic visuals. It may not be essential reading for everyone, but for fans of Civil War, it offers a thoughtful and worthwhile addition. Read Full Review

That is immaterial, though, because Gage delivers a well thought out story (that also has some fun and excitement). This story is so successful, in fact, that Civil War Unmasked #1 should be considered an essential part of Civil War. Read Full Review
