This is yet another amazing chapter in the Outer Circle saga, full of action, drama and all of the emotional story beats that anyone who loves Captain America could ask for. While M.O.D.O.C.'s "control" makes a bit more sense than the world-ranging conspiracy that was revealed in just three issues during the first arc, it's still sloppy writing for a serial series. Read Full Review

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #9 appears to be moving the story in a clear direction until it stops and throws everything away for some unknown purpose. Spectacular storytelling amply compensates for some ambiguous last-act plotting. (We're stuck in a "what's real, what's not, when did the mind games start?" trap by the end.) This series has been so consistently great that I have complete faith in the way it'll play out. The dialogue is delightful. There are multiple points where a great line drops my jaw and it just stays hanging for a page or longer as the scrumptious prose keeps on coming. The art is equally formidable. While it occasionally gets sketchy, it constantly shoulders the majority of the storytelling work in the action scenes and it never disappoints. Carmen Carnero makes daring layout choices to establish a consistent visual theme; she's created something far more meani ngful than basic "here's a panel, here's a panel" blocking. more

What a visual treat Carmen Carnero's storytelling is! I liked this issue but I was confused for a few pages which hinders a bit but overall I'm on board even if the Outer Circle thing is a joke of an antagonist.
