Captain America #604

Captain America has been one of Marvel Comics hottest books over the past few years, and with Brubaker, Ross, and Guice still at the helm, it doesnt show signs of cooling off anytime soon. Its a book with some serious themes and ideas acted out and commented upon in it, but it never loses its fun as a superhero action book. I for one still love it. Read Full Review

Regardless of the backup feature, this is a great issue. Brubaker is doing what he does best – tell simple tales that skillfully reference real events in a unique way. Combine that we great character development, and I'm a happy reader. This is one of my favorite titles, and I'm sure it will be as long as Brubacker writes it. Read Full Review

"Captain America" #604 is another very good issue of the series that builds on what came before without being beholden to it. The story is interesting and I can't wait to see the conclusion after the final page reveal of 1950s Captain America's plan. It's big and crazy in that classic supervillain kind of way and works perfectly. Read Full Review

This arc has had a lot of political fallout and high-profile, but it feels oddly isolated from the overall Marvel Universe, virtually all of which is embroiled in the events in Oklahoma. The addition of some racial diversity (something that I, honestly, hadnt been thinking about in previous issues) makes the Watchdogs at once less crazy and more threatening, but their overall plot leaves me mostly in the dark. I enjoy Sam’s larger role in this series now that Steve is back and another decent issue in the Two Americas arc. Hopefully further down the line we get more Sharon because she was a huge player until the dramatic issue 25
