Cable's new story arc starts with a bang as Zac Thompson & Lonnie Nadler sculpt Cable and his daughter Hope into real three-dimensional characters. The overwhelming presence of the shape-shifting fear-monster stalking them ensures that this is more of a spine-chiller than a heartwarmer, though. The script gives Germán Peralta free reign to imagine a creeptastic beastie, and Mr. Peralta is very, very imaginative. "Cable" #155 is off to a good start on this new run, relying on two elements of Nathan's story that are compelling and worth exploring. If the script can better balance the tough-guy genes of the character on future issues, this could become a very strong arc. Read Full Review

This issue marks a solid turn for the better in this series. As the release day for "Deadpool 2" approaches on May 18, Josh Brolin's portrayal of the character in the film is certain to bring more visibility to the Askani'son. Issue #156 already promises another major character appearance, so here's hoping for another success in the X-universe. Read Full Review

A far more expressive Cable draws Hope into a father-daughter fight against Metus, a horrible shape-shifting techno-organic monster that's chased him for decades. Formidable character work and even more impressive art ennoble a plot that's twisty but just a little predictable. In a major departure from this title's previous brainless story arcs, this new looks like a very cerebral, very scary monster hunt.
