Avengers #682

Its great to see Red Wolf finally given a chance to shine, and, despite the hype about the Hulk, is really what makes this issue the best of the series so far. Its invigorating to feel like the heroes in the book are finally approaching this situation in a proactive way, using their deductive reasoning to suss out the best strategy rather than just chasing the villains around and flailing about. Hopefully, the other heroes will finally wise up and follow his lead. Read Full Review

Love the focus on Red Wolf and Hawkeye, while an iconic character finally rises. The story continues to move smoothly, the action is high, the characterization is well done, and the visuals are exciting. This what Marvel Comics are famous for. AVENGERS #682 is an issue unlike any other "No Surrender" installments. Its inclusion of Red Wolf gives Marvel the chance to let a C-lister shine. One Avenger would gamble everything to save thousands, and it was one heck of a gamble from the unlikeliest hero. Avengers #682 continues to prove that you can have a big action story like No Surrender and still find genuine balance through character development and exploration. I generally dont like to use profanity in my reviews of comics, but I darn near made an exception for the Oh, S#!T! moment that ends Avengers #682. This is what folks mean when they refer to a game changer. Its not so much a cliffhanger as it is a teaser. If youve been reading Marvel news on the internet, you might be able to math this out yourself, but if not, well, youre in for a treat, which will only ratchet higher in intensity reflective of your own passion for the Avengers. No Surrender is really clicking into place. Grandmaster and Challenger are entering the closing stages of their face-off, and were all right there to see it play out. I know nothing about Red Wolf other than he existed during Marvel's pre-superhero western days. I did not read Occupy Avengers or the short lived series. Seeing his interaction here with Hawkeye did make me regret that a bit and I may have to go back and read Occupy at least. That camaraderie gets me every time I see it with titles like Powerman and Iron Fist or Steve Rodgers and Sam Wilson. Again I think the weekly nature of this book is its strongest point. It helps keep that sense of constant chaos. It helps remind you that this is all happening within a very short amount of time for the characters. It also helps keep you interested in the outcome of what is a very action based story arc. I am loving the fact we are seeing purpose behind all Avengers. Both heavy hitters and more reserve members. I have not thought about Living Lightning since his West Coast Avengers days and now I am hoping to see more of him. I said before that this series has won me over, and that certainly has not changed. more

I love the roster and how each issue allows someone to shine. Red Wolf was done well here. Izakse fills in well before we move on to the next artists and Curiel's colors keep the vibe similar between the transitions.

Wow, just when i wanted the event to pick up its pace....it did....very finely. I loved this issue. It had a top-notch writing. The art by Sean Izaakse is very similar to the other artists and was also consistent throughout the book. David Curiel still does a good job with the colouring.

Loved how Red Wolf was portrayed in this issue. Izaakse's art really suited the overall tone of the book and wasn't any different from the previous artists we had before. Interesting developments with Jarvis which I hope will get resolved soon.

Well, we've been building up to the Hulk returning for about 3 weeks. And we get the reveal at the end; the Challengers trump card appears to be the Hulk. Jarvis comes out of his coma and then goes back under and flatlines. Red Wolf gets a pyrmaroid for team avengers and it appears they are winning. All I know is: I'm excited to see the Hulk back and I can't wait for next week to see him actually fight! Not bad. I've jumped in since the beginning of Legacy and I feel this is currently a better team book than Justice League is right now. If your looking for action, multiple heroes, and epic battles, this is the team book for you right now. Red Wolf goes all Sherlock Holmes and deduces that touching the Pyramoids can't be as fatal as it looks. I love clever heroes and I love Red Wolf, but this development strongly contradicts the way the Lethal Legion was behaving in the last issue. It's almost like this story was cobbled together by a too-big team of writers who couldn't be bothered to coordinate, or something! While I admire the polish that Sean Izaakse brings to the individual panels, he's sticking with the established lack of backgrounds. I think "featureless void" settings are a terrible choice for a busy story with so many parallel plot threads.

This time we follow the story with Red Wolf voice ... Who Care ? And we know what will happen ... Who Still care ? But, BUT ... It was doing in the write way. I have more respect for Red Wolf now. And that did a good badass moment for Clint ... "It's not my friend. It's my brother" ... Man I feel the positive vibe of that ... And even if the writer lost some time with Rogue team (Did they forgot M'jolnir can open a portal for teleport ? REALLY ? Even in Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 they use that !). They also talk about Jarvis health issue. This time a germe. I think other human Avenger (Clint in line) would have to be examined. And they close with the voice of the Challenger ... Well that disturbing. With the Grand master laughing ghost in the Hospital ... I facepalm myself !. And we know the Hulk is very angry ... But F.... ! And I will not even talk about Roberto ... Champagne ! REALLY ! Cover - I tried to find another cover ... I wasn't a fan of Red Wolf. But after my reading it's a 2/2 Writing - Still not perfect ... Still asking myself if the 3 of them really work on that ... Because I trust alone each one of them can do better than that. 1.5/2 Arts - Happily the art is still great ! 3/3 Feeling - They need to really do more than that. 0/2 more
