When this book ends you won't know where it can even begin next month and that's flipping exciting. Avengers #1.1 is a blast from the past that'll remind you no matter the era these characters are complex prisms from which to view the world. Even if you're not into the older era you can't deny the change of pace is a nice reprieve from the event laden series. Read Full Review

While the main Avengers title will hopefully be doing something new with Kang and time-travel, these .1 issues look like they'll be providing a classic feeling team updated for a modern reading experience. Read Full Review

This was an okay book, and it could get interesting if it truly ties into the current team, or it could be a fun little break from everything else Marvel is doing. I plan to keep my eye on this title, and I want to see where Waid is taking all of our Avengers, both new and old. Read Full Review

This is one of those series that if you're curious about the Kooky Quartet, give it a try. Yet if you're not entirely wanting more Avengers in your world, this is skippable. Despite mostly solid art and some fun moments, this may work better as a trade but as a single, it doesn't come together well, at all. Read Full Review

I love the flashback issue (Waid’s specialty, see JLA: Year One). This has always been one of my favorite rosters of Avengers and it’s good to see them back together in their early days. Stan would be proud

On principle, I can't give this a higher grade ONLY but SINCERELY because it is a completely unnecessary retcon. Not only of the Kooky Quartet but of Wasp and Frightful Four to boot.
