(Cover Date: October, 1969) Summary: The android Growing Man abducts the critically ill Tony Stark from the hospital, but the Avengers are there & try to stop him. They all are transported to Kang's throne room in the future. Kang recruits the Avengers to be players in his game with the Grandmaster for the life of his beloved Ravonna. The stakes are that if they lose, Earth will be destroyed. The Grandmaster arrives to begin the game. Thor, Cap & Goliath are transported back to present day Earth, where they are met by four members of the Squadron Sinister.
