An intriguing look at one of Spider-Man's spin-off characters, the Wraith, but although we get to see her argue with her boss and with Spider-Man, we don't really know much about her. Nor do we really know much about the stakes of the supposed gang war that's happening between the villains. It's all fine, and it's worth a character study, but we'll need a lot more if we are to rise above some fairly typical tropes of the genre and of Spider-Man's general milieu. Impressively plotted and written. Spidey's dialogue feels "right", and Watanabe remains a compelling character. At this point, it's better than the main series. Looking forward to the next issue.

Spider-Man's side story adventure is turning out to be more fun than Slott's Parker Industry/Ghost plot, although I find the main story more humorous at times. The criminal underground provides a more compelling story. Plus I find it funny that a kid wearing a bright colored suit is fighting crime gangs unlike a certain brooding counterpart who wears a dark colored costume, growls at his enemies, and has a fetish for small flying nocturnal mammals. Fun read, but Wraith needs to lighten up. What a b!tch.

The Villain

This team up between Spider-Man and Wraith is a lot stronger than the first issue. Spider-Man is really well written and feels like the classic character that we all know. The villain still isn't quite there for me but the overall story really works. I'm interested to see how this will end.

Fun read. After all these years Conway still has Parker's voice down pat. At this point these 'point issues' are better than the main series.
