Usually, I won't give something a 5 out of 5 if I have a huge problem with an aspect of the book, but I simple loved this issue. The whole story is incredibly solid, but it's those last few pages that make this an amazing issue. This is one of my favorite Spidey stories in the past decade all because Dan Slott is fantastic with this character. Spidey gets a bit more serious here, and it was great seeing Doc Ock as the hero, in the public's eyes. Read Full Review

As usual, Humberto Ramos and his highly-charged kinetic style might very well be contributing to just how breathless Slott's stories become, because his work is just so damn dynamic and energetic. Hell, in this issue, he even gives Slott a cameo. The Amazing Spider-Man #685 once again proves that it's possibly the most consistently and thoroughly enjoyable read that Marvel Comics puts out, and you're missing out on plenty of exciting adventures if you don't dig in. Ends of the Earth continues with part 4! Spider-Man, Black Widow & Silver Sable squeeze Sandman for some valuable information on Doc Ock’s plans, but not before going head to head with the rampaging Rhino! Plus: with time running out, Spidey makes a desperate call to a number of super heroes from every corner of the world for some much needed assistance. Another “hot” issue from Slott & Ramos. Keep up the good work boys. From Marvel Comics. Read Full Review

I'd heard this issue called predictable elsewhere, but I must disagree. This is another in a line of excellent issues that highlights why Spider-Man is the heart of the Marvel Universe; other heroes may be more popular, or looked up to more often, but Spidey will always be the heart and soul, which is something Slott understands intimately. Ends of the Earth continues to impress, and the stakes are now even higher going into the final two issues of the story. Read Full Review

Not an awesome issue, but still pretty strong, The path forward for Spidey and friends is very clear for the rest of this story arc. Read Full Review

Fortunately, Humberto Ramos turns in yet another great issue. The montage of Spidey's global network of heroes taking out Doc Ock's bases is a visual treat. Each hero gets one snapshot from their explosive raid and Ramos chooses the best moment for each. Seriously, anyone who makes Kangaroo look like an action hero gets mad props. Read Full Review
