Weekly Comic Book Review - Dean Stell
Apr 13, 2011How long can Mr. Slott keep this up? He's now pumped out 11 issues of ASM without hitting a single “meh” issue. He is just killing it with Peter Parker and getting the most out of his highly talented art team. Slott has done such a good job that it is almost hard to grade because I end up comparing this issue to past issues that have received the “A” grade. ASM almost has it's own scale at this point. Apr 18, 2011Regardless of how interested you are in Spidey's role in the FF as an ongoing prospect, it's clear that his own title won't ignore it entirely. We don't need to see every arc as FF-heavy as this issue (after all, that's what FF is for) but in terms of establishing how the FF fits into Peter's life, this issue tells us all we need to know, and it's a story worth reading for that reason alone. Apr 19, 2011I have to say the amount of whining Spidey does in this issue troubles me a little. It looks like the decision is to make Peter far more kid-like than we've seen him in recent years in an attempt to better the team dynamic (which I think is a really, really bad idea). We also get the first rumblings of a major problem with Peter and Carlie's relationship which could lead to a big confrontation in the next issue. Worth a look. Read Full Review
