Jul 27, 2016If there's one hiccup to this issue, it's Waid's continuing subplot featuring Nadia Pym, the All-New Wasp, having a day out exploring Washington, D.C. with Janet Van Dyne, which feels like a bit of an insubstantial interlude amidst the Avengers' battle to the death out in space. But besides this detour into B-story territory, All-New All-Different Avengers #12 is one of the strongest issues of this series yet. If you're a fan of character-driven superhero comics like Grant Morrison's JLA or Geoff Johns' Justice Society of America, you should definitely check this issue out. Read Full Review

Aug 01, 2016On the surface, this issue is all about the fussin' and a fightin', but Mark Waid is also showing us a team coming together and fighting individually, but still for the good of the whole. Jul 28, 2016ANAD AVENGERS #12 is, at its core, nothing more than a final hero vs. villain showdown. Each character is given enough time to leave a small mark amongst the action, but at the end of the day, it's only Nova who gets some necessary character development. There are things here and there that could have been more refined or better implemented, but in the end the writers just wanted a classic comic book final boss fight. So, while I can only rank this issue as plain decent, I'd still say it succeeds at telling a simple Avengers vs. bad guy fight. Read Full Review
