Within the darkness that covers the surface lurk the avatars of death known as the ogres. The only ones who can fell these fiends...are the ayanashi. During his travels, one such warrior, Holo, saves a young girl Aura and her father and accompanies them to a nearby city. However, darkness suddenly falls over the town, bringing with it a swarm of ogres. Armed with his short sword, Holo attempts to fend off the ogres, but he's severely outnumbered, and the town is slowly overrun. The dark fantasy of ebon and crimson continues!
