Jun 28, 2011Crazy people make the best comic books. Just look at Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Frank Miller and, of course, Warren Ellis, though he'll tell you he's the sane one and we're all crazy. Either way, I have Ellis to blame for introducing me to Witch Doctor a few years ago. By which I mean he has a forum and Seifert and/or Ketner posted about their book there once. Sorry if that sounded like a name-drop. I totally didn't mean to fool you. Read Full Review

Jun 21, 2011"Witch Doctor" offers readers a refreshing comic that is not tied to events or relaunches, nor is this book padded to fill out a presumed collected edition. This is a straight-forward magical story that appears to be done in one, but leaves plenty of reason for the character, the creative team, and especially the reader to come back for more. I certainly will. Read Full Review

Jun 30, 2011Im going to recommend the hell out of this book, partly because its so good, and partly because I selfishly want to see more miniseries starring Victor Morrow and his associates after this first one is over. Its totally unique and a great read. Read Full Review

Jun 29, 2011There's a lot of potential in Witch Doctor that isn't fully realized yet. In the hands of a stronger artist, I probably would have enjoyed the issue a lot more. But Morrow and his companions are characters I'd like to see more of in the future. If Seifert can flesh out his cast and their world, then Witch Doctor may stick around well beyond this miniseries. Jul 02, 2011This wasnt a bad start for Witch Doctor, I was just expecting a little more. My enjoyment of the series will hinge on the balance between medical application on supernatural problems and magic umbrellas (and anything similar). If the former is favoured, it should be an enjoyable series. Read Full Review
