Again, the only minor complaint with Void Rivals is the characters and main plot is strong enough to not need the Transformers' cameos. Undoubtedly, it's cool seeing characters like Springer randomly show up to illustrate this Energon Universe is all connected, but Void Rivals is fully capable of standing on its own. Robert Kirkman is building a slow burn here, but it's not without its fair share of fun, action packed moments. Void Rivals is a piece of a bigger puzzle, and quite a sizable one at that. While a VERY quick read, this issue focus's more on the visual clues than anything else. The writing is still strong though, and finding a cast member of Transformers who isn't grumpy in this book is very refreshing. Here's hoping we can get back to the character stuff next issue. Read Full Review

Void Rivals #9 seems like it has some key bits of information in an overall “good” issue. It's an improvement to the start of the arc but the series still feels like it's trying to find its footing beyond relying on “guest stars.” Read Full Review

Another strong issue, and the intro to Springer as well as the fight that followed was great. Things are not looking to great for Darak and especially Solila though so I am curious how they get out of this. This has been a fun series to follow and I know I am going to have a great time when I pick up these books. I haven't been let down so far.
