Apr 27, 2015"Velvet" #10 is a dazzling conclusion to the series' second storyline and, hopefully, the wait for "Velvet" #11 and beyond won't be too long. Brubaker's creator-owned series have always been a joy to read, as well as his numerous collaborations with Epting. For this duo, I'd say this is easily their best work together. Apr 27, 2015There is also a coda to Velvet #10 in which Lake kills a few other bigwigs in ARC-7, including Velvet's former boss whom she thinks is a good man. Lake clearly has a plan in place, and it's one that might aid Velvet at times, but it might also do it in ways that she does not like. Having two sides (Velvet, ARC-7) with different agendas was already making this series a great read, but adding a third side (Lake) seems like it will make the upcoming arc of Velvet even more complex and entertaining. Another quality issue of Velvet, wraps up the arc pretty well and keeps us eager for more. Brubakers writing is soem of the best in the industry, and its great to see him turn toward spy fiction. Epting and Breitweiser make a wonderful team, bringing the perfect Art to this book! Thier only flaw is staying on schedule, so hopefully we see the next arc hit its marks or turn to bi-monthly.
