Comics Bulletin - Matthew McLean
Nov 15, 2007That next step introduces a strangely charming bad guy that is also completely despicable and amoral. This character, while he may not be around for a long time, seems to be as fleshed out as much as any of the other characters, which is another indication of just how much work has gone into this book. It also leads to an ending that this reviewer didnt see coming. But it will keep me looking out for issue #3 whenever it hits the stands. Read Full Review

Nov 14, 2007The Sword is a perfect example of how hard it is to tell a story based entirely off of a series of mysteries- especially when segmented into short increments. It is unbelievably risky to leave your audience thinking in a certain way, because if you misfire, even if the plot is headed in a completely different direction, there is no way for them to know this when choosing whether or not to buy the next issue. Again, I could be way off base here. Honestly, I hope that I am- I've just learned to be weary of titles like this because more often than not they tend to disappoint. Read Full Review
