Amit Chauhan and Eli Powell's The 13th Artifact is creative and captivating. They truly deserve to be the 2015 Talent Hunt winners. I only wish we could get another issue! This is a great-looking book and an engrossing read, for fans not only of the Top Cow Universe but of any classic horror or sci-fi comic. If anyone gets that the dystopian sci-fi market is a bit saturated and that these stories seem kind of obvious in this day and age, it's me; yet this one holds up with its classic take on the fall of modernity. I'm excited that The 13th Artifact exists, and honestly, I'm a little proud of Image for doing things like this. I do belive it's important to support new artists and creators, and this is a huge effort to do so. As for you and your buying habits, this is a one shot that will cost you a few bucks and send a huge message, and you'll get a good story, a neat world, and some really decent art of it. You may not be left drooling for more, but that can be kind of a good thing, too. Check this one out, and you're done. There's a lot less stress to check something out when you're spending four bucks, instead of maybe getting hooked and spending hundreds. Read Full Review

Ultimately The 13th Artifact was a nice diversion for 15 minutes or so. I'm glad I read it and it served as a good showcase for the creators. If you're a fan of sci-fi/horror mash-ups with a Twilight-Zone-y feel to them, it's definitely worth checking out. Rather disappointing. The latter half of the comic was telegraphed well in advance, and this story had been told a thousand times now.
