Saxon barbarians harry Britain from the east. In the North, the Pictish threat looms. From the West, Hibernians send raiders from the land that shall one day be called Ireland. Aurelianus, newly anointed king, must defend Britain against all of these threats, whilst also dealing with the growing rebellion amongst his own people. For there are stories of another, more worthy king. One anointed by the old Celtic gods - whom the Christians refer to as the Devil Spawn...' An exciting new miniseries from acclaimed Artist and Writer, Liam Sharp. Epic brutality comes to the Spawn Universe.

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

I don't know what to think of this. I mean, I get it, I understand what it's doing and all, but just the execution falls short in the structure in a big way. I don't mind going in blind and learning along the way, but I got more from the glossary of terms than I did reading it about the time and place it happens in. The big draw for the moment is the artwork as it's just gorgeous, and it can easily sell it as it should. The locations are fascinating, the characters look great, and it's from a "lost dark period" of London is certainly intriguing. And I like being disconnected-ish from thirty years of Spawn storytelling I don't know about to look at a particular sliver. But it really needed to do better in the setup side to make it a bit easier in some ways, more accessible. Read Full Review

The deal has been completed, the contract has been concluded, and no one knows what will happen next. The king, who was occupied from all sides, was forced to make this deal, and I understand him perfectly well, he wants to protect his people, but, unfortunately, riots are brewing inside the kingdom itself. It's a decent comic book in the Spawn universe, I liked the way it was drawn and the historical plot itself.
