Bloody Disgusting - Your Friendly Neighborhood Brady
Dec 10, 2014Fighting monsters isn't fun or glamorous in the world of Sinergy. It can be downright terrifying. I like all the places being set out here and where this could lead to in the future. I really like how lucky I am to be seeing this new world from Oeming grow and develop month by month. I hope you can read and appreciate how this series look simple and yet feels much deeper than it appears. It can be taken in as a light and fluffy monster bashing story. Or, as I see it, you can read it as a rare look at how legacies and heroism can really affect you. Read Full Review

AIPT - John F. Trent
Dec 10, 2014Sinergy #2 leaves out the humor of the opening of the first book, but does a good job of portraying Jess as a very average teenager with normal problems that arise in her daily life from boys to large life-changing decisions. The voice of Jess reinforces the idea of her being an average teenager and kept the book lively. However, the dialogue with her parents was disjointed and whether it was her Dad or her Mom, neither seemed to be having a conversation with her and rather talked at her. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Nick Philpott
Dec 10, 2014This issue leaves us with a revelation about Jess's home life and her dad's more dastardly shit that he pulls, but it's not enough to pull me in. Oeming and Soma have a fun character design with this hockey-playing girl in an antelope mask who apparently fights monsters, but they seem dead-set on not letting her fight monsters, and making her focus on what kind of selfie she should send to her boyfriend.
