  You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

  Now that the series crawls out of the Pleasure Center with new revelations, Horn and Hickman can start to move the series in a new direction that takes into account a larger perspective on the world of SFSX. Its been a strangely-paced journey into a dystopia thus far. A lot of the basic elements of the world have been rendered now. Itll be interesting to see where the story moves from here. Theres a potential danger in repetition as the fugitives continue to explore the edges of the dystopia. Still, Horn and Hickman seem to have a solid grasp of where theyre going with the story in an issue that has an excellent progression. Read Full Review

  On Comics Ground - Elizabeth Fazzio

  I was a little thrown by the resurgence of the excessive bold text in this issue, especially since it seemed to have disappeared after the first issue. I know it sounds like such a little thing, but when your images tell more of the story than your words do, you need to be sure that those words are formatted in a way which doesn't mar the flow of the narrative. There were a few 'deus ex machina's in this issue"Powell falling for the 'villain monologues and allows prisoners to escape' trope, Sylvia falling for Jones' emotional 180, ***SPOILERS*** Nick effectively falling on his sword for the benefit of the group"which makes the book lose points for predictability, but the power behind the story still obtains.   A rollicking ride as two sides go to war to impose/defend their way of living. Fluid artwork coupled with didatic storytelling come together to produce an entertaining, compelling (if one sided) story of sex and freedom. Read Full Review

  Comics: The Gathering - Jay Hill

  SFSX #6 continues the dirty dystopia's struggle for freedom. The Dirty Mind team's plan isn't going as planned but it was obvious the Party wasn't going down without a fight. The big reveals of this issue were slightly expected, but the conclusion doesn't close the door on there being more surprises to come. Read Full Review
