  While penultimate issues have a tendency to be used as a brief pause to take stock before an all-out finale, Moreci seems to have gone in the complete opposite direction here, putting together as action-packed and frantic an issue as I can remember from him. It all works beautifully however, and as he finally pulls back the curtain on his bigger picture with a shocking flourish, this issue cements Roche Limit as one of the most inventive, engrossing and unpredictable scf-fi comics in recent years assuming that wasnt obvious already.   If that is the case, we have an excellent setup for the third volume. Even if Sasha can defeat the monster, there's a whole other problem waiting back at home (which of course assumes that she can defeat this thing). Since we can be sure that there is some of intelligence at work in the anomaly, one can imagine that it won't take defeat lightly, either. And as for the here-and-now, we know that Sasha is going to go off and try to kill the monster that's out there. How will she fare? Will it be using the memory of her dead family against her, or can she stay sane long enough to do the job? Read Full Review

  Bounding Into Comics - John F. Trent

  Roche Limit: Clandestiny #4 explores the possible failings of humanity, while ramping up the action as the team is no longer exploring, but is forced into desperation mode in order to survive. This brings out the best in the characters, showing their sacrifice, determination, and resolve. Kyle Charles' artwork combines the serious with the gleeful in his action sequences, detailing a number of different combat sequences with Sasha, Danny, Colt, Elbus, and Langford fighting the shadow monsters. Battaglia does a great job lightening up the scenes, giving the team a sense of renewed hope towards the end of the issue despite the encroachment of The Black Sun. This is an exciting sci-fi romp with major discussions on the idea of humanity. Read Full Review

  There is no question that the second volume of Roche Limit is quite different from the first. That being said, the continued universe and spirit of the series definitely is present across the two arcs. With incredible back matter that is hardly back matter at all and in fact quite relevant to the stories, each issue has been filled with content and quality and this fourth issue is no different.   Frankly, this type of action and weight in a penultimate issue is uncommon. Usually, it's a long set-up towards an action-packed finale. Moreci instead honors the story as the arc approaches its zenith with the stakes getting higher and higher. With its philosophical quandaries already established and the extinction level threat revealed, 'Roche Limit Clandestiny' continues to shine as one of the smartest and original sci-fi comics available.
