  The Brazen Bull - Dave Robbins

  With the larger story now front and center, Rat Queens looks to be setting up another interesting and suspenseful arc. The consistently smart writing and intricate artwork remain. Weibe and Gieni know exactly what they want and how to put it on paper. Well done and I have good hopes for the future. This issue is mostly about exposition, but necessary, so I couldn't find too much fault with it. Read Full Review

  Kurtis Wiebe and Owen Gieni follow through on their "Rat Queens" relaunch with another rowdy and raucous blast from Betty, Dee, Braga and the gang. And while it's great to see Wiebe slip so effortlessly back into the rhythm and humor and camaraderie of these women, it's Gieni who's becoming the real monster here. Read Full Review

  The other thing I do really like in this issue is that the Queens are shown in a relaxed, bar hopping mode, and they are all very feminine and sexy. Well as stereotypically feminine as one can be while puking in a cemetery. There's no contradiction in these women being monster-slayers and also wearing pink lace (Braga looks particularly adorable). It is great to see this all male writer/artist team continuing to be committed to not stereotyping these characters. Read Full Review

  It's tough to say if I'll be back more for this series. Perhaps I'll read it and not review it, or maybe it'll inspire another review. As it is though, it's average, boarding on forgettable and that's unfortunate for a series that was once so incredible.
