Comic Bastards - Asa Giannini
Jan 27, 2016I worry that as Earth War goes on, I may have less and less to say about such a uniformly excellent book, but upon re-reading this issue, I realize that I've not even tapped the surface of the dense material packed within. I cannot recommend the series enough to longtime fans, but to anyone who hasn't tried Prophet yet, now is the time. Read Full Review

Feb 05, 2016There is very little action in the book - the Crystal Worshippers send their champion against Brute John Prophet and three other warriors in a quick, simple battle to display their power - but it doesn't matter because of the gravity of this issue; there is SO much pent up here, the last gasp before the plunge. The tension is nearly palpable with the start of what we can only assume will be a sprawling epic following in the footsteps of the previous book. Jan 28, 2016Prophet: Earth War seems to be designed to play to the strengths of everyone involved in it, and on top of all of that, it is just a damn good sci-fi comic. It's open-endedly pulpy but just smart enough to get the reader thinking about. It is both worthy of critical analysis and simple, pure for-fun reading.
