The Brazen Bull - Charlie Chipman

As the plot in Port of Earth continues to thicken with extraterrestrial anxieties and close-to-home conspiracies, Port of Earth cements itself as being one of the most thought-provoking comic book series currently in production; and here, in its fifth issue, it becomes obvious that there is more to this story than initially thought. A must-read. Read Full Review

All in all, Port of Earth #5 is a great first issue to bring readers back into Kaplan's world after the nearly three-month hiatus. On balance I'd say that this is a series that would be better read in trade form if you can wait. It is enjoyable though and if you buy it you are unlikely to be disappointed. Read Full Review

'Port of Earth' remains exciting and unique but after one arc we could use more information and details. It's time to expand this universe by adding more context from different first-hand characters. The cable news debates are compelling but getting the perspective from aliens or other officials could open the series up further. Nonetheless, 'Port of Earth' is consistently engaging and surprising just in need of some more world building. Read Full Review

Port of Earth isn't strong enough to stand out on story alone, so hampering the art with drab coloring really holds it back. Read Full Review
