The quick angle changes and forced perspective allows Chan to show so much of the team's world in simple yet effective ways, from view screens to sniper scopes or the ship's bridge to incantations in the clone tanks. And with an almost whimsical air to the art which downplays the horror elements and keeps the entertainment pumping, Outer Darkness has to be one of my favourite new series on the shelves today. This is absolutely a must-read series. The horror is epic. The science fiction flavors are delicious. This is a warped combination of genres that will have you wondering if man should ever go into space. I hunger for each issue, but fear where it will take me. Highest possible recommendation. There's a deep well of storytelling potential to Outer Darkness, as Layman and Chan are able to play the tropes of science fiction and horror against one another to create some unexpected new storytelling avenues. Read Full Review

Slower than the previous issues, but it remains an inventive blend of everything from J-horror to Alien that builds on tropes to make its own supernatural statement.
